Kartik Amavasya Story 

Once on the new moon day of Kartik month, Goddess Lakshmi was roaming on the earth, but due to darkness, she could not see her direction properly. Goddess Lakshmi Ji deviates from her path. While moving ahead, Goddess Lakshmi ji saw the light of a lamp in one place. The goddess goes to that light. When Goddess Lakshmi ji reaches there, there is a hut there.

There an old lady had lit a lamp outside her house and the door of her house was open. The woman is working and sitting in the courtyard outside her house. Goddess Lakshmi Ji asks the old lady for a place to stay there. That old woman gives place to Goddess Lakshmi to rest. She also arranges their bed. Goddess Lakshmi Ji stops there to rest. Goddess Lakshmi ji was very pleased with the nature and service of that old lady. Then the old lady falls asleep while doing her work.

The next day, when the old woman goes, she sees that her simple hut has been transformed into a beautiful building like a palace. There is no shortage of money in his house. When did Goddess Lakshmi ji leave that old lady’s house? The old woman is not able to know about this. Then Lakshmi Mata ji appears to this old lady. Mother Lakshmi ji started saying that the one who lights a lamp in darkness on the day of Kartik Amavasya paves the way for light.

He gets my blessings. Since then, the festival of lights has been celebrated every Kartika Amavasya at night. Since that day, the tradition of worshiping Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Kartika Amavasya has been going on. On this day, worship is done for the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi.
