Hearing this, Lord Vishnu apologized to Sage Durvasa and told him that he had no intention of insulting him and Lord Shankar.
He had put this garland around the neck of the Gurudwara only because it was very dear to him. Then Lord Vishnu bowed to Maharishi Durvasa and asked the solution to get free from this. After this, sage Durvasa, giving up his anger, asked Lord Vishnu to observe the Uma Maheshwar fast and said that only if he observes this fast with complete rituals, he get prosperity. After which Lord Vishnu observed this fast and regained his prosperity. The worship method of Bhadrapada Purnima fast is as follows:
To please Goddess Lakshmi on the night of Bhadrapada Purnima, clean the place of worship thoroughly. Make a rangoli at the main entrance of the house and light a four-sided lamp on it.
Keep the main door of the house open. According to beliefs, those who welcome Goddess Lakshmi in this way, Goddess Lakshmi reside in their homes.
