Ashadha Purnima Importance 

Pilgrimage, bathing, charity, and worship have special significance on the full moon day of Ashadh month. Kokila Vrat is observed with the worship of Lord Shiva and Parvati on the full moon day of this month. The effect of this fast brings marital happiness and unmarried girls get a good groom. On this day the birth anniversary of Maharishi Ved Vyas is celebrated. Therefore, due to the tradition of Guru Puja, the Guru Purnima festival is celebrated.

It is believed that on the full moon day of the month of Ashadha, the Moon is in Purvashadha or Uttarashadha Nakshatra. If the Moon is in Uttarashadha Nakshatra on the full moon day of Ashadh month, then it is considered extremely fortunate and virtuous. There is also a tradition of worshiping the ten world gods in such a combination. Sawan starts from the second day of Ashadh, hence Ashadh has great importance.

Ashadha Purnima Vrat  

Ashadha Purnima is also called Guru Purnima, hence Guru is worshiped on this day. In ancient times, Gurus used to give free education and knowledge to their disciples, which is why at that time Guru was worshiped by the disciples on this day to thank them. The reason behind celebrating Guru Purnima is that Maharishi Ved Vyas was born on this day. Veda Vyas is also known as Krishna Dvaipayana. Maharishi Ved Vyas had composed the four Vedas and Mahabharata. Ved Vyas is worshiped as a god in the Hindu religion. Because Ved Vyas was born on this day, it is also known as Vyas Purnima. On the day of Ashadh Purnima, everyone worships Vedvyas with devotion and wishes for a happy life. On this day, Halwa is distributed as Prasad.

On this day we circumambulate Govardhan Mountain. On this day, some worship Brahma and some worship their initiation guru. This day is celebrated with great pomp in temples, ashrams, and Guru’s Samadhi. Clouds cover everywhere in India from east to west and from north to south.

Ashadh Purnima Puja Vidhi

To get the blessings of Ashadh Purnima, wake up before sunrise on this holy date and if possible, take a bath in Ganga or mix Ganga water in bathing water. After this, offer Arghya to the rising sun and then worship Lord Shri Lakshminarayan with the Panchopachar method. To get auspicious results of worshiping Ashadhi Purnima, worship Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Shri Vishnu on this day. Also, worship the Moon God in the evening as per the rituals.

Remedies for Ashadha Purnima

If you are troubled by mental problems and want to get rid of them, then look at the moon for 15 minutes on the night of Ashadha Purnima. Also, pray to Chandradev for happiness and peace. It is believed that by doing this the Moon in the horoscope becomes stronger and the problem of mental stress goes away.

Donating on the full moon date of any month is considered auspicious. In such a situation, on the day of Ashadh Purnima, donate food, broom, red clothes, quince, etc. to the poor and needy. Mother Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu are pleased with this.

On the day of Ashadha Purnima, offer kheer made of saffron, makhana, and dry fruits to Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. This brings blessings from Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.

On the day of Ashadha Purnima, chant the mantra ‘Om Gran Green Gran Sa: Gurve Namah’ as much as possible with a rosary of basil, turmeric, or yellow sandalwood. This strengthens the position of Devguru Jupiter in the horoscope.

To get the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, chant the mantra ‘Om Shreem Hreem Shree Mahalakshmayai Namah’ on the day of Ashadha Purnima. On this day, Shree Yantra should be worshiped and Shree Sukta should also be recited.
