Upnayan Sanskar is considered to be one of the most important rites performed before marriage. This is the tenth rite described in the ancient Sanatan Dharma. Upanayana or Janeu Sanskar has been a special ceremony in Sanatan Dharma, especially in the Brahmin community. In this ceremony, the boy is made to wear a sacred white thread (Janeu or Yagyopaveet), which symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in his life i.e. puberty. This is why it is mandatory to perform this Sanskar with proper rituals and on auspicious dates and Muhurta.
